Two-factor Authentication

Two-step verification (also known as two-factor authentication) is a process involving two stages to verify the identity of an entity trying to access services in a computer or in a network
According to proponents, two-factor authentication could drastically reduce the incidence of online identity theft, phishing expeditions, and other online fraud, because the victim's password would no longer be enough to give a thief access to their information.

Activeprism users to use a two-step verification process. To access Internet service using the two-step verification process, a user has to go through the following two stages

1) The first step is to log in using the username and password. This is an application of the knowledge factor.

2) The implementation of the second step requires a mobile phone which is an application of the possession factor. The user has to enter his/her phone number with splash page. When we attempt to authenticate with username and password, ActivePrism will send via SMS a new, unique code to the phone. This number is to be entered to complete the log in process

Once the user is Authenticated, he/she can access the internet and all his activities will be logged based on the mobile number. This data can be used to run SMS campaigns and for validation purposes to ensure that a user has provided personal information that can be used to track them, should they abuse the network.
